Johanna Lundy is the principal horn of the Tucson Symphony, the Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra (Indianola, IA) and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra (Lancaster, OH). She frequently performs with other ensembles in Arizona, including the Phoenix Symphony, the Arizona Opera, the Tucson Chamber Artists, and the St. Philip's Friends of Music. Ms. Lundy has over 12 years teaching experience and has taught private horn lessons at the University of Arizona (Tucson, AZ), Oberlin Conservatory (Oberlin, OH), and the Dana Hall School of Music (Wellesley, MA). She has a strong background in music theory, ear training, and music history which she incorporates into lessons. She regularly coaches the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra and the U of A Outreach Honor Band horn sections and has given masterclasses and coachings at the University of Arizona and Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff, AZ). Her students are consistently selected to participate in regional and all state bands. Ms. Lundy is an adjunct faculty member at Pima Community College (NW Campus) where she teaches music history classes. Ms. Lundy holds a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music from New England Conservatory.
