Laura Stoutenborough is the principal clarinet of the Tucson Symphony. She has also performed with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and the Tucson Chamber Artists. She received her Doctorate and Master of Music degrees from the University of Southern California, studying with Yehuda Gilad, and received her Bachelor of Music degree as a student of Burt Hara at the University of Minnesota. Laura has over a decade of experience teaching students of all ages. Since she began teaching in Tucson in 2010, she has had students selected for regional and all-state bands. She frequently coaches the clarinetists in the Tucson Philharmonia Youth Orchestra, and has given masterclasses at the University of Minnesota and Waldorf College in Iowa. Ms. Stoutenborough has performed in several music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Music Academy of the West, where she performed as a soloist.
